This image is a concept for a costume for Teddy prior to his adventures beginning in ernest and as part of a manga idea I want to get started on.
In this version, secrets seem to revolve around his father -an apparent 'low-life' adventurer who left his family to go seeking treasure. However, a stray ball, a knocked over chest and a forbidden attic later, the truth is more damaging to Teddy's plan for the future (i.e. being a carpenter, not an adventurer).
Teddy recieves his tunic shortly from his mother after truth gets out and he accepts that his father's role was more profound than he first believed...

Well, it does kinda. Over the course of my project, I wanted to take it out of that storybook genre and make it a high fantasy. Instead of being just a Teddy Bear, 'Illiops' are a druidic race of ursine humanoids who live in the jungles of Rillonia.
lol. nope, but the description gave it away. Nice work on the pic...

Very nice. I'd love to read this story and see more. there's absolutely no fictional material on Teddy Ruxpin, even AU.
Teddy looks good, a little younger than he was but not by much (In the show he always struck me as early twenties, here he seems to be late teens). The clothing looks more like something you'd wear around the house so to speak as opposed to something you'd go adventuring in, which fits the idea of him originally wanting to be a carpenter.

Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
